ArtSnacks - March 2016

YAY!!!

My first ArtSnacks Box arrived and I can't wait to share what came in it.

ArtSnacks is a monthly subscription service for art products. and the concept is the creative brainchild of Lee and Sarah Rubenstein, a brother-and-sister team who are also behind EatSleepDraw, one of the largest user-submitted art sites on the internet.

The package is a rectangular box and the content is beautifully wrapped in tissue paper and a cute seal. It includes a “menu card” describing each product and how best to use it.

Here are some pictures

Products included:
Of course I had to try everything right away and well here is what I created
We have all been through the terrible experience of painting and using different mediums specially when working on an art journal and seeing the paint and ink from the markers bleed through the paper and cause damage to a previous work.  Well, I tried the Rendr® Paper and this gorgeous paper did't bleed and the pencils and markers worked beautifully over the smooth surface.

The KOH-i-Noor Woodless Colored Pencil is so smooth and worked great for sketching and shading.

I also enjoyed using Tombow Irojiten Colored Pencil, loved the firmness of the point and how I was able to create layers of colour.

When I unboxed the products and saw this next two products I made the happy dance.

I've been wanting to try the Posca Paint Markers and the Liquitex Professional Paint Markers for a very long time.  They are awesome, loved the quality of the paint and how it covered the surface. The fact that that I can use them to make details and  take them and create where ever you are is very convenient.

I also received the KUM Automatic Long Point Sharpener, what can I say... is it possible to be in love with a pencil sharpener?... I am!!!! Works great, points are sharp and the long point feature is awesome for details.

Well the verdict is in..., I love this concept and the wonderful products that came this month and will recommend for you to give it a try, the value of the products is way over the cost of the monthly subscription an it is so much fun to try new art supplies.
