Day 4: Proud

As a mom I always am surprised by my kids and how they have grown up and become amazing human beings.
On Saturday, we left the house and went to the beauty salon. My youngest daughter wanted to donate her hair so it could be turned into a wig for a special someone that had lost their hair due to medical conditions, the group to whom she will donate her hair is called Locks of Love.
Laura has been growing her hair for three years, and when she finally sat down, with teary eyes filled with emotion, I looked at her and finally figured it out: she is not my baby anymore, she is a young woman capable of making her own decisions.
I am really proud of her.
While we were waiting to see her new hair, my daughter Julianna, who is my second child, looked at me and asked how did I feel about Laura's decision. I told her that I was really proud and surprised.
Julianna looked at me, her eyes all shiny and told me: I don't understand why you're so surprised, we are who you raised us to be, we are your extension, we are part of you.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and I knew at that moment how blessed I was.

Laura, me and Julianna; I am a proud mom.
I love this girls so much.

Day 3: Lunch Time...

Weekend... at last.
I am so tired, this past week has been so stressful, work is killing me.
Each day I play with papers, pencils, calculators and computers. Drawing is a huge part of everything I do.
I am an engineer and I love it, but this is not the kind of paper playing that I want to do most of the time. During the day my head is filled with ideas colors and lines, I just want to be home creating with paints, mediums and lots of brushes.
Sometimes I take my Art Journal and add the finishing detail to a page during lunch time, alone in my office, door closed where no one can see me.
You see, my coworkers don't know about my affair with art and art journals and markers and well you get it.
There are days when I doodle and zentangle during lunch, yesterday was one of those days, I worked on some inchies, they are so tiny and you can begin a project and finish it in a very short amount of time. I also have a small set of watercolors paints and brushes in my desk, so I added a little touch of color.
Want to see what I did today?

Hope you like them, I had lots of fun creating them.
Love,
Me

Day 2: Inspiration

Hello everyone!
I have been reading blog post all afternoon and believe me when I say I enjoyed every bit of it.
It  is strange that so many people that don't know each other can have so much in common: same fears, same doubts, same ideas...
The talent of this ladies is endless and so inspiring.
How do you get inspired?
I usually get inspired at work, where I can't create and this is so frustrating. Then I get home and I am so tired, I can't put anything together. Lately I am carrying a small journal in my purse and each time I have an idea, I write it down for those moments when inspiration isn't happening.
I want to share pictures of a place I like to visit when inspiration is playing hard to get.

The place is magical, colors are vibrant and I just feel that this is my home, my place.
Love,
Me

Day 1: Me...

I am a mom, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a godmother, a friend, a co-worker... somethings are missing I know, but there are moments when those other roles don't fit into anything.
As a mom I give my everything to be with my kids, they are young adults and so many events are happening in their lives, I just feel that if I blink I will miss something.
As a daughter, I try to be the best I can.
As a sister, aunt and godmother... I am always there, willing to help and take care of what ever they need.
As a friend, well as friendship goes, I have a very close group of friends, who I really feel are family.
Yeah... as a co-worker I try as hard as I can to be a good one and help when ever I can,...but... some days it is so hard!!!
I told you in the beginning that there were some parts of me that I wasn't sharing...yet!!!
Well, I am a partner in crime to a wonderful man. I have learned so much with him, yes... I can sense you are smiling..., but I don't mean what you are thinking. I have learned to be patient, to follow my dreams, to cry when I need to cry, to laugh so hard that I'll have to cross my legs and try to run to the bathroom (believe me sometimes I have not run fast enough).  I've learned to accept who I am today and be excited about who I'll be tomorrow.
That brings me to.... exactly that: ME! Who am I without this titles?
I am a woman who is lost and found at the same time...
I am a woman who is tired and full of energy at the same time...
I am a woman who is so afraid of everything yet so brave at the same time...
I am a woman who is sad and happy at the same time...
I am a woman....
I am...
I am... so many things at the same time.
See that is the thing, I am continuously evolving, growing, changing, learning and I want to be this woman.
Sometime ago I began a journey of healing and self acceptance. It has been hard, but I've learned to follow my heart and let things be.
I've learned that there isn't a word that will describe who I am forever.
I just discovered that the most amazing word to describe myself today is... Me!

Faith...

It has been a very long week...
My creative time was so little, but I manged to do some things, just till that moment when your body is not yours and you begin feeling so sick.
Asthma, back pain, cold, neck pain... all of them at the same time.
But I had faith that I would get better and that it wouldn't last for to long. I am getting better slowly, but  my faith is strong and I know that I will be back to normal soon.
With the strength that I had, began working on an art journal page, here it is:

Used: acrylic paints, india inks, Gelatos, water soluble oil pastels, archival ink, Sharpie and white gel pen and embossing paste.
Had tons of fun  mixing mediums.
Faith is part of my journey!

Our actions...

Some time has passed since my last post.
Life is not easy and at moments seems unfair, but God is always there holding our hands and guiding our steps. We are never alone, not even in our darkest moments, not even when you try to hear something and there is just silence.
I have three wonderful kids, all are College student. In our country, when parents get divorced they have the responsibility to put their kids through College and pay child support until they graduate.
My kids were attacked by a lawsuit from their dad, he felt that he had paid enough and did not want to continue paying child support. My youngest daughter's birthday was on February 7 and on the 8th her father placed a demand asking for all of his responsibility for child support be suspended.
Our lawyer helped us. Things worked wonderfully for my kids, legally speaking; not so much for dad.
The process was long and painful. My kids are really hurt and still don't understand why this happened.
They are great kids, loving and caring, dreaming of that day when they graduate.
I know they are not kids anymore but I will always see them like that.
I am a proud mom, love them with all my heart!
Financially it has been really difficult, but we will get through this.
My family is trying to regain strength, our last battle has been tough, but we are closer than ever.
Have been working on my art journal, trying to calm myself.

The girl is kind of surprised that the bird is standing on her hair. The bird is holding a string, with the following message:
Our actions speak much louder than our words.
Mediums used: Dylusions Spay Inks, acrylic paints and gel pen for details.
Family is part of my journey.

Me
