Day 4: Proud

As a mom I always am surprised by my kids and how they have grown up and become amazing human beings.
On Saturday, we left the house and went to the beauty salon. My youngest daughter wanted to donate her hair so it could be turned into a wig for a special someone that had lost their hair due to medical conditions, the group to whom she will donate her hair is called Locks of Love.
Laura has been growing her hair for three years, and when she finally sat down, with teary eyes filled with emotion, I looked at her and finally figured it out: she is not my baby anymore, she is a young woman capable of making her own decisions.
I am really proud of her.
While we were waiting to see her new hair, my daughter Julianna, who is my second child, looked at me and asked how did I feel about Laura's decision. I told her that I was really proud and surprised.
Julianna looked at me, her eyes all shiny and told me: I don't understand why you're so surprised, we are who you raised us to be, we are your extension, we are part of you.
Tears rolled down my cheeks and I knew at that moment how blessed I was.
Laura before and after, with our friend and stylist Meredith.

Laura, me and Julianna; I am a proud mom.
I love this girls so much.
Hugs,
Julia
